Accidents happen. You're covered by Simply Maid's $10 million public liability insurance on every job. What protects you is reporting quickly and honestly.
If you broke something
Stop and take clear photos of the damage.
Tell the customer straight away if they're home. If they're not, text them.
Open the booking and tap Report a breakage. Add your photos, describe what happened, and confirm you've told the customer. It takes two minutes.
Our team contacts the customer about repair or replacement under the insurance. Don't offer to pay for it yourself or argue about who's at fault — that's our job.
Reporting a breakage doesn't cost you money and doesn't hold your pay. Hiding one does: a customer finding damage you didn't report is treated as a serious trust issue.
If something was already broken before you started
Report it before you start cleaning:
Photograph it.
Open the booking, tap Report a breakage and choose Damage before I started.
Tell the customer, or text them if they're out.
Once it's reported with a timestamped photo, the customer can't hold you responsible for it.
Where reports go
Every report is reviewed by our team. You'll see the status on the booking and get a notification when it's resolved.
