Microfibre cloths and sponges — plenty, and colour-coded so bathroom cloths never touch the kitchen
Cleaning sprays and products — multi-purpose, bathroom, glass and oven cleaner

Tile cleaner and soap-scum remover
Wood floor cleaner and wood furniture polish
Stainless steel cleaner
Oven cleaner (lemon-scented is less harsh — and only ever use it inside the oven)

A mild cream cleanser like Gumption for stubborn marks
Air freshener or deodoriser
Tools and supplies
A caddy or bucket with dividers to keep products organised
Scrub pads, a small grout brush and a few old toothbrushes
Disposable gloves
Duster with a long handle for cobwebs and high corners
Squeegee for shower screens and windows
Two-step ladder or stool
Lint roller (pet hair)
Paper towel for toilets, inside ovens and fridges

Carpet or steam cleaner — unlocks extra jobs like end-of-lease cleans.
Most cleaners get set up for under $150 at Kmart, Bunnings or Woolworths. Check your kit is clean and working the night before every job.
